How do I clean my blanket?

Spot cleaning works like magic! If the blanket is past that point machine wash on a cold gentle cycle. We recommend hang drying but they can be machine dried on tumble dry. Be sure to remove strap before cleaning! 

What is my blanket made of?

All fibers are recycled from clothing production remnants. Material content may vary due to this but is generally 50% polyester, 30% acrylic, 20% cotton.

How do I clean my basket?

Spot cleaning is best for the baskets, be sure to let it dry out in a warm dry place. 

What is my basket made of?

Woven palm fronds and vegetable tanned leather.

What does Nipomo mean?

Nipomo means foot of the hill in Chumash Indian, which felt appropriate for starting a small business from the bottom looking up at what it could be. It is also a town on the central coast of California and served as a trading post between Northern and Southern California. This also resonated with us since we work between Oakland and San Diego. 

Where are the products made?

For the blankets we work with skilled weavers in central Mexico - in the state of Tlaxcala. The baskets are hand woven in the state of Guerrero. The sandals are made in Baja California. All of the leather work is done in San Diego, California.

How does my purchase help the people making the products?

We are so proud to be able to work directly with artisans throughout Mexico. Your purchase helps local communities in Mexico by providing an income for skilled craftspeople while also helping them to preserve and continue their traditional craft.  

What led you to work with people in Mexico?

I grew up (Liz here) in San Diego and my mom is from just across the border in Ensenada, Baja California Mexico. I was raised with two cultures and grew up constantly visiting family and friends just across the border. I love the color and craft that exists in Mexico! When I was starting to think about starting my own business I knew I wanted to support communities that maybe don't have access to a more global market. 


Do you have a storefront?

We do not have a storefront yet! We work with a lot of lovely shops throughout the US and internationally. Check out our Stockist page for more info. Feel free to reach out if you don't see a shop in your area.


How soon can I expect to receive my order?
Orders are processed and shipped with 2 - 4 business days. Once your order has been processed, the average transit time is 3-5 business days. Express shipping is available upon request. 

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We offer USPS shipping for international orders. Add your items to the cart and select USPS international for a shipping quote. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Do you offer returns?

Yes! If you are not happy with your purchase please contact us within 14 days of receiving. The product must be returned unused, in original packaging including all tags and the return must be approved through email.

Is it free to return an order?

Unfortunately we are a small business (only 2 people!) and cannot offer free return shipping. In case of refund neither the original shipping cost nor the return shipping cost will be repaid. A refund will be applied via your original form of payment once the item has been returned in its original condition. We are not responsible for returned items lost in the mail, so please keep tracking information. Allow 1-7 business days for refund to post.
