How do I clean my blanket?

Spot cleaning works like magic! If the blanket is past that point machine wash on a cold gentle cycle. We recommend hang drying but they can be machine dried on tumble dry. Be sure to remove strap before cleaning! We made a handy washing video you can check out here!

What is my blanket made of?

All fibers are recycled from clothing production remnants. Material content may vary due to this but is generally 50% polyester, 30% acrylic, 20% cotton.


How do I clean my basket?

Spot cleaning is best for the baskets, be sure to let it dry out in a warm dry place. 


What is my basket made of?

Woven palm fronds and vegetable tanned leather.

How can I care for my basket?

Great question! Our baskets are made from natural palm fiber, please be gentle with your new bag. Be sure not to put sharp things in them that might poke through the basket and avoid creasing or folding the bag in a way that might damage the fibers. Our baskets are strong and durable but should be treated more gently than a leather or canvas bag.

What does Caminito mean?

Caminito means small wandering path in Spanish. For this new chapter we will be directing our focus toward celebrating life’s simple joys. Taking the slow road and admiring the shapes in the clouds. Lounging on a blanket while sharing laughs and snacks. Cozying up with a good book under one of our warm blankets. Embracing the simple and slow path - a little learning from 2 years tucked away at home. 


Wait were you Nipomo before?

Yes! After 8 years as Nipomo we have decided to take a big leap and rebrand this little project to something more fitting. We rebranded in 2022 to Caminito to allow our brand to evolve and grow along a slightly different path.


Where are the products made?

For the blankets we work with skilled weavers in central Mexico - in the state of Tlaxcala. The baskets are hand woven in the state of Guerrero. The sandals are made in Baja California. All of the leather work is done in San Diego, California.


How does my purchase help the people making the products?

We are so proud to be able to work directly with artisans throughout Mexico. Your purchase helps local communities in Mexico by providing a fair and consistant income for skilled craftspeople while also helping them to preserve and continue their traditional craft.  
 

What led you to work with people in Mexico?

I grew up (Liz here) in San Diego and my mom is from just across the border in Ensenada, Baja California Mexico. I was raised with two cultures and grew up constantly visiting family and friends just across the border. I love the color and craft that exists in Mexico! When I was starting to think about starting my own business I knew I wanted to support communities that maybe don't have access to a more global market. 

 

Do you have a storefront?

We do not have a storefront yet! We work with a lot of lovely shops throughout the US and internationally. Check out our Stockist page for more info. Feel free to reach out if you don't see a shop in your area.

How soon can I expect to receive my order?
Orders are processed and shipped with 2 - 4 business days. Once your order has been processed, the average transit time is 3-5 business days. Express shipping is available upon request. 

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We offer USPS shipping for international orders. Add your items to the cart and select USPS international for a shipping quote. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

returns

Do you offer returns?

Yes! If you are not happy with your purchase please contact us within 14 days of receiving. The product must be returned unused, in original packaging including all tags and the return must be approved through email.

Is it free to return an order?

Unfortunately we are a small business (only 2 people!) and cannot offer free return shipping. In case of refund neither the original shipping cost nor the return shipping cost will be repaid. A refund will be applied via your original form of payment once the item has been returned in its original condition. We are not responsible for returned items lost in the mail, so please keep tracking information. Allow 1-7 business days for refund to post.
